Finish

Clean and dry — juniper lingering, moderate length, a no-nonsense London Dry close

First Impressions

Ampersand's London Dry is the base expression from their Spanish collection — the foundation upon which their Mango Chili and other flavoured variants are built. This is a straightforward London Dry gin that does not attempt to reinvent the category: clean juniper, citrus peel, coriander spice, at an accessible price point and a standard 40% ABV.

Tasting

Classic London Dry botanicals: juniper, coriander, citrus peel, angelica, and orris root. The nose is clean juniper with citrus peel brightness. On the palate at 40%, juniper-forward with coriander spice and citrus brightness — classic London Dry profile without embellishment. Smooth and well-balanced. The finish is clean and dry with lingering juniper.

The Bottom Line

Ampersand London Dry earns a 6 — a competent, reliable London Dry at an attractive price. It does not try to be exceptional; it tries to be consistent and accessible, and it succeeds. The value for money is the selling point. Best as a mixing gin in cocktails or a straightforward G&T. At £25, a solid everyday option from Spain.
