Tasting Notes

Blossom and rolling valley meadows — prominent juniper with floral complexity from 22 botanicals

Palate

Prominent juniper blending with gentle chamomile and caramelised honey — melting from spices to citrus and vanilla, bright lime-orange-grapefruit with lifted florals, velvet Manuka touch

Finish

Soft and smooth from the Manuka honey — not sweet but beautifully fragrant, the 22 botanicals creating remarkable depth

First Impressions

Cygnet 22 is Katherine Jenkins' premium gin — twenty-two botanicals including Manuka honey, bee pollen, heather, sea salt and rose petals at 44%. Masters at Global Luxury Masters 2024 and Gold at IWSC 2024. Not sweet despite the honey — silky smooth for sipping.

Tasting

The nose evokes blossom and meadows with prominent juniper. On the palate, juniper with chamomile and caramelised honey — melting spices to citrus and vanilla, the Manuka providing velvet texture. The finish is soft and beautifully fragrant.

The Bottom Line

Cygnet 22 earns an 8 for luxury Welsh gin at its most ambitious. The Manuka honey, bee pollen and heather create a texture that sets it apart, and the 22 botanicals never descend into confusion. Masters at Global Luxury Masters 2024 — thoroughly deserved.
