Tasting Notes

Nose

Fragrant floral pine-fresh juniper — mild cardamom, faint menthol with huge distinct spignel aroma accentuated by bog myrtle

Palate

Piney juniper with cardamom-pepper smoothed by faint sweetness — herbal complexity with zippy menthol-citrus, savoury samphire and sea buckthorn, rosemary-thyme earthiness

Finish

Long pine-fresh moderately spiced — faint menthol with the Suffolk coast in every sip

First Impressions

Fisher's Gin is distilled on the Suffolk coast — botanist James Firth forages rock samphire, wood aven root, spignel and bog myrtle from the nearby coastline. These join traditional gin botanicals for a genuinely coastal spirit produced by Adnams.

Tasting

The nose is fragrant with pine-fresh juniper, mild cardamom and distinct spignel aroma. On the palate, piney juniper with cardamom-pepper, herbal complexity, zippy citrus freshness, savoury samphire and sea buckthorn. The finish is long, pine-fresh and moderately spiced.

The Bottom Line

Fisher's earns an 8 for the most botanically authentic coastal gin available. Having an actual botanist forage your ingredients ensures genuine coastal character, and the spignel and bog myrtle are botanicals you will not find in any other gin. Suffolk's hidden gem.
