First Impressions

Gyre & Gimble is a Norwich boutique distillery born during lockdown, inspired by Lewis Carroll's imagination. Atlas Gin uses three types of juniper from different corners of the globe alongside thirteen botanicals including tonka bean, pink peppercorn and lime leaf. The name comes from Carroll's Jabberwocky poem.

Tasting

The nose is bold juniper from three origins with bittersweet citrus and warm spice from tonka and cinnamon. On the palate, bold bittersweet flavours with three juniper types creating layered pine, exotic fruits and fragrant pink peppercorn-ginger spice. The finish is deep with tonka bean vanilla warmth and lime leaf brightness.

The Bottom Line

Gyre & Gimble Atlas earns a 7 for creative gin-making with literary soul. The three-juniper approach gives it a complexity that single-origin junipers cannot match, and the tonka bean adds luxury. A Craft Gin Club Gin of the Month and increasingly popular with collectors.
