Tasting Notes

Nose

Distinctly herbal and floral with a hint of sweetness — clean natural blackberry aromas with green notes and attractive spiciness

Palate

Sweet red fruits complemented by earthy bay leaf — a journey from fruity to spicy to woody and herbal, then back to fruit with juniper edge

Finish

Warming spice with lasting fruity blackberry — beautifully balanced and rich

First Impressions

Whitby Bramble & Bay is inspired by childhood blackberry hunts along the Yorkshire coast. British blackberries are paired with fragrant bay leaf over Whitby's signature botanical base including sugar kelp and heather. At 38%, it is lighter than the Original but carries the fruit beautifully.

Tasting

The nose is distinctly herbal and floral with natural blackberry aromas, green notes and attractive spiciness. On the palate, sweet red fruits are complemented by earthy bay leaf — a journey from fruity to spicy to woody and herbal, then back to fruit with a juniper edge. The finish is warming with lasting fruity blackberry.

The Bottom Line

Whitby Bramble & Bay earns a 7 — a 2-star Great Taste award winner that combines fruit and herb with genuine skill. The bay leaf prevents the blackberry from becoming one-dimensional, adding woody herbal depth. Best with elderflower tonic, lime and basil for a sophisticated twist.
