Tasting Notes

Nose

Citrus and juniper with spicy background — delicate brewed tea, floral notes of crushed white flowers, lemon juice, allspice, the altitude of the Nilgiris evident in the freshness

Palate

Smooth, almost buttery juniper — raw mango and citrus fused with peppery bite, yellow curry powder warmth, mace and nutmeg spice, tea providing tannic structure, fresh linen quality, velvety and crisp

Finish

Long, dry and wholesome — packs a punch, lilies and jasmine, citrus with black pepper and mild curry, the nine botanicals all contributing to a finish that rewards attention

Expert Review

8/10

From Amrut — India's most celebrated distillery, famous for single malt whisky that shocked the whisky world. Nilgiris means 'Blue Mountains' — the Western Ghats range at 7,000 feet where the freshest botanicals are sourced. Macerated and distilled in copper pot stills with nine botanicals including lemongrass, mace, nutmeg, cinnamon and tea. 95 points from Tastings.com, #5 Global Drinks Guide 2023. Smooth buttery juniper with raw mango and peppery bite.
