Tasting Notes

Nose

Pine forests and wildflowers — vibrant gondhoraj lime upfront with bright pine backing, bold earthy quality from turmeric, genuinely different from any European or Japanese gin

Palate

Ginger and tangy mango paired with citrus — coriander and juniper giving heat, gondhoraj lime adding a citrus character that kaffir lime fans will recognise but different, turmeric earthiness providing a warm golden backbone, spicy florals, cardamom finishing touch

Finish

Long and delicately spiced — cardamom warmth, turmeric earthiness lingering, Himalayan juniper reasserting with pine, the spices of India having the final word, composed and confident

Named from the Sanskrit word for juniper. Founded in 2017 by Anand Virmani (former Glenfiddich brand manager), his wife Aparajita Ninan (an artist), and Vaibhav Singh — who saw India's Ginaissance arriving and wondered why the spice capital of the world had no craft gin. Distilled in Goa on a still called Agatha with Himalayan juniper, turmeric, gondhoraj lime (a kaffir lime cousin from Bengal), raw mango, ginger and cardamom. 91 points gold at Bartender Spirits Awards. Acquired by Diageo India.
