Tasting Notes

Nose

Intense juniper dominates from the first moment — denser and more resinous than many peers. Coriander seed adds a citric, almost floral lift, while angelica root contributes a pronounced earthy dryness. The liquorice is barely perceptible, functioning more as a textural element than a distinct note. There is a sappy, pine-like freshness that is immediately arresting.

Palate

Full-bodied and boldly structured, reflecting its 47.3% strength. The juniper is commanding — almost muscular — with a resinous intensity that coats the palate. Coriander brings gentle warmth and a peppery spice, while angelica provides a long, dry backbone. The higher ABV lends a pleasing viscosity and ensures every botanical is heard clearly.

Finish

Long and decisively dry. The juniper persists with real authority, gradually giving way to an earthy, root-like dryness from the angelica. There is a faint peppery warmth from the coriander that endures, and the overall impression is one of clean, purposeful resolve.

Expert Review

8/10

Tanqueray London Dry is a masterclass in botanical restraint — four ingredients, nearly two centuries of heritage, and a juniper-forward character that remains the benchmark for the entire London Dry category.
