Tasting Notes

Nose

Classic aged gin — juniper, a hint of char, woodsy cedar, smoky grain, the American oak making its presence known immediately

Palate

Tangy and gin-like at first — lemon, liquorice, and juniper upfront, then the woodsy touch arrives with vanilla and cinnamon, heat building strongly, the new oak's influence confident and pronounced

Finish

Vanilla and oak warmth — cedar and smoke, juniper reasserting through the barrel influence, long and warming at 45%, a Colorado campfire in a glass

Expert Review

7/10

From Wood's High Mountain Distillery in Salida, Colorado — at 9,000 feet elevation. Their Treeline Gin aged in new American white oak barrels, adding vanilla, cedar, and caramel to a classic dry gin base. Perfect neat, on the rocks, or in a Negroni that will make your tongue dance.
