Tasting Notes

Nose

The nose bursts with baking spice, clove-studded orange and sweet vanilla, rounded by toasted oak.

Palate

Smooth and approachable, with baking spice, caramel and a rounded mouthfeel. The spice integration is well-judged.

Finish

A medium finish with gentle spice, caramel and a comforting warmth.

Lamb's Spiced is a spiced rum from Lamb's in UK, bottled at 30% ABV. It positions itself as an accessible, everyday rum that prioritises approachability over complexity — and for the most part, it succeeds at that modest ambition.

The spicing here is thoughtfully done, with Lamb's blending their base rum with a carefully curated selection of botanicals and spices. The result is a spirit that manages to be both flavourful and balanced — a tightrope that many spiced rums fail to walk successfully. The underlying rum character remains discernible beneath the spice, which is always a positive sign.

This is firmly a mixing rum, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Paired with cola, ginger beer or in a simple Daiquiri, it does its job with quiet competence. While it may lack the complexity to warrant sipping neat, it offers genuine value as a versatile bar staple.

At its price point, Lamb's Spiced offers fair value for a straightforward spiced rum. It does what it sets out to do without pretension, and for that it deserves credit. A solid choice for casual mixing and everyday enjoyment.
