Probitas is a white rum born from a collaboration between two of the Caribbean's most respected distilleries — Foursquare in Barbados and Hampden Estate in Jamaica. Richard Seale of Foursquare brought his expertise in column still distillation, while Hampden contributed its legendary pot still rum, renowned for its high-ester, funky character. The result is a white rum of unusual complexity and depth.
Bottled at 47% ABV without chill filtration, Probitas retains a fullness of flavour and texture that many white rums sacrifice for clarity. This is not a rum that apologises for itself — it arrives with confidence and delivers on every level.
On the nose, expect ripe banana, pineapple, lime blossom, fresh sugarcane, subtle pot still funk, and white pepper. The palate is textured and vibrant with tropical fruit, creamy vanilla, citrus brightness, and a beautifully integrated Jamaican pot still character. The finish is medium-long with clean sugarcane, lime zest, and satisfying warmth.
This is the bartender's white rum. In a Daiquiri, it is revelatory — the pot still character adds a depth and complexity that single-column-still rums simply cannot match. It also makes an exceptional Ti Punch and a Mojito of real substance. An outstanding white rum.
