Tasting Notes

Nose

Dense sherry-soaked raisin, beef broth, cocoa powder, dried fig and a whisper of sulphur-edged meatiness.

Palate

Rich and oily — stewed plum, leather, dark chocolate, wax polish, a pronounced savoury umami note that Mortlach devotees call 'the meatiness'.

Finish

Long, drying, with bitter cocoa, walnut skin and a lingering faint rubber tang.
